Cliff Gauldin

Cliff Gauldin

Background

After 20 years in the news media as a radio reporter/anchor, Cliff Gauldin has been involved in agriculture-related communications and public relations since 1994.  Prior to joining CMA in 2005, his experience in the communications department of a leading Midwest livestock producer taught him the importance of building trust with neighbors and community.

Cliff grew up on a diversified farm in central Missouri where he gathered eggs, sorted cattle, fed pigs and weeded miles of soybeans before there was such thing as herbicide-resistant crops. In addition to his past work in broadcast journalism, he was a regular contributor to Feedstuffs weekly newspaper for five years on the pork, beef and dairy industries.

He and Paula, his spouse of more than three decades, have three children – all college educated and gainfully employed.

Meet Cliff

When have you “been there” for a client?
While en route to a vacation in Colorado I used a telephone in a motel lobby in western Kansas to facilitate a media training exercise.

What do you do to recharge your batteries?
I spend countless hours mowing five acres of grass/lawn spring through fall. My 30 X 40 foot garden keeps evenings and weekends full and rewarding. Our grandson is a hoot.

Biggest pet peeves?
Moles, crabgrass, and tomato blight.
